Aicanfrbural ground project began in 1991, during excavation work for a new fedral office building, workers discovered skeletal remains of the first of more than 400 men. womenand children. further investigastion revealed during the 17thand 18th centuries, free and ensalaved africanswere buried in a 6.6 Acre burial ground in lower mahatton.
